Intrawest Corporation makes Mont Tremblant resort the Largest Tourism Project in North America

Intrawest invest another $1-Billion in expansion over the next 10 years at Tremblant. Plus $95 Million from Government of Canada and Government of Quebec.
Intrawest doesn't mind peaks and valleys in its business, as long as they're covered with snow. Its 9 ski resorts in Canada and the US include Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia, Copper Mountain in Colorado, and Stratton in Vermont. Intrawest also owns the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Florida. Other holdings include Canadian Mountain Holidays, a provider of helicopter access to ski and hiking trails; Abercrombie & Kent, a luxury safari and tour operator; and about 30 golf courses in the US and Canada. In 2006 the company was taken private by New York-based private equity firm Fortress Investment Group in a deal worth about $2.8 billion, including the assumption of more than $990 million in debt.
